Details of the GoDaddy Cloud

Domain hosting giant GoDaddy last week announced expansions to its cloud business, including new cloud server locations in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. GoDaddy is building a cloud business aimed at smaller businesses than those targeted by the best-known cloud providers, Amazon, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. Although the GoDaddy Cloud Server business is only four months old, it already has "tens of thousands" of customers, according to GoDaddy Senior Vice President Jeff King .

On Wednesday, GoDaddy reported Q2 results, with revenue up 16% to $456 million and adjusted EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation) of $104 million. Both figures were above analyst expectations, leading the stock to rise 12% on Thursday to close at $31.78. The hosting segment, which includes the nascent Cloud Sector.
